What's your word for 2019?

what's your word for 2019

Welcome to 2019!

I absolutely LOVE new beginnings! The freshness of the new year always has a bit of magic in it! We can see all of our possibilities and seem to have a new shot of energy as we journey toward our dreams! It's beautiful!

I began my dream of creating a new form of education for students 6 years ago.  I started with a blog in South Korea that I named, "Koreamya."

When I began blogging under "Koreamya," I would post classroom activities and workbooks that I made for my students.  I had no idea what any of it would lead to, but my students were so happy to have materials that were made for them, rather than materials simply created for a "standardized" curriculum.

This blog later evolved into my company, Evolved Teacher.  Perhaps you have joined the journey after I became Evolved Teacher.  I'm glad you're here.

This year, I’ve decided to choose one word that would propel me forward this year and that word is "Collaboration."  Education is nothing without collaboration. It will take all of us. Me. You. The kids. The other education enthusiasts out there. All of us.

I'm ready.

Selecting a word to define my year is a practice that I complete yearly and it really helps me to reach a new level of growth each year.

In order to figure out my own word for 2019 "Collaborate," I first had to do a review of 2018.

All in all 2018 was a great year for me!

1.) I did a TED talk!

2.) I released an album of hip hop affirmations for kids.

3.) I published two children's books!

What's so exciting about this book is that it also comes with a free 30 day membership to an animated interactive website.  The website has cartoons that help the students to write stories. There are also meditations, songs, other amazing courses, and more uploaded monthly! This was/is what I have been dreaming of creating! (The special link to the membership platform is located in this book!)

All in all, so many things happened in 2018!! But, when I did a review of my year, I thought of what could have been holding me back from having an even greater impact and accomplishing even more.  In my case, it's not enough collaboration.

Now it's your turn!
What held you back in 2018?
What's your word for 2019?

It means a lot!

Now, let's get ready to rock this year!
