How to Avoid Cultural Appropriation on Halloween
Oct 24, 2020
One of my lovely followers asked a question about her daughter wearing a Halloween costume to honor Harriet Tubman. It's so incredibly beautiful that children are learning about diverse prominent figures and having more diverse experiences.
However, it is also our responsibility to teach them ways to honor without culturally appropriating. It is also important to demonstrate what is a costume and what isn't.
I offer this post to families as we all begin to have discussions about Halloween costumes and awareness.
